JAC Media is a Newcastle-based music and events PR agency working with venues, management companies and independent artists across genres getting music heard, tickets sold, and festivals packed out. We have a genuine love for live music and independent artists, and with over 10 years of experience in the industry, JAC Media is one of the North East’s leading music PR agencies.
What we do
We have a proven track record of growing audiences for venues, working across a wide range of music, from indie, rock and pop, to niche genres including classical, jazz, roots and reggae. We work as an extension of your in-house team, creating press releases, liaising with the media and securing previews, interviews and reviews for your events across regional, national and online media. Our love for music along with our knowledge of the industry and wide network of contacts means we know exactly where to go for securing coverage that will drive ticket sales and grow your audience.
Gearing up for a single release, new album or live show? We work with independent artists and management companies to grow audiences and take artists’ careers to the next level. We create bespoke campaigns for you and your music. We write a killer press release and target a tailored list of contacts who we know will love your music. Drawing on our strong relationships with the media, we make sure your music gets heard by the right bloggers, radio stations and journalists. We’ve worked with some of the North East’s most exciting independent artists, including Beth Macari, Jango Flash and Alex Opal. The results speak for themselves. Our recent campaign for Beth Macari’s 2019 single ‘Stronger’ helped her reach 200,000 plays on Spotify, with reviews across the North East’s mainstream press, culture magazines and national music blogs.
We work with the region’s leading festivals from a grassroots level right through to high production events, including This Is Tomorrow, Hit The North, Tipping Point Live, Corbridge Festival and the inaugural Lamplight Festival. With the number of festival-goers growing year on year, the music festival industry is becoming increasingly competitive, which is why an effective PR strategy has never been more important. We know how to create buzz, from previews and line-up announcements to artist interviews and PR stunts. We create a results-driven campaign designed to build hype around your event, build your festival brand and sell tickets.
Examples of our work
Middlesbrough Town Hall
We were thrilled to be brought in by Middlesbrough Council to take care of the PR for their ambitious new programme which is breathing new life into Teesside’s music and cultural scene.
Since reopening after a huge £7.7 million renovation in 2018, Middlesbrough Town Hall has created a programme that brings huge national and international icons to their Main Stage, as well as hosting leading lights of the underground and indie scene in their smaller venues.
With their programming on point, all they needed was an awesome PR firm to spread the word and that’s where we come in.
Thanks to our regional and national media contacts and PR know-how, we worked side-by-side with the Town Hall to sell out big-name concerts from the likes of Don McLean and Adam Ant, as well as shouting from the rooftops about lesser-known, yet equally special shows from niche acts such as Paul Smith, Don Letts and P.P. Arnold.
We’ve secured national press and radio interviews as well as previews in high-profile music blogs and across regional publications. Our work has made sure music fans from across the region and further afield are aware of the fantastic music coming to Middlesbrough Town Hall.
London-based artist management company Modest Management, called on JAC Media to help promote their North East auditions for the drummer of their new boyband, XXX
We worked with the management company, who represent the likes of Olly Murs and Little Mix, to create a campaign that found them some of the best drummers in the region through coverage across regional press, cultural magazines and radio.
